Born in the Rhondda I've lived in Rhondda all my life I married a Rhondda girl and married for 50 years sadly my wife has passed away.
I have two sons both living in England but I see them quite regular I have grandchildren and great grandchildren, born in 1949 over his long years I have seen a dramatic change to our valleys, is not the same as it was as I remember as a child and growing up yes I know everywhere in the country is the same but it doesn't change the fact that the Rhondda like all South Wales valleys have changed dramatically over them years. The Rhondda consists of over 30 towns and villages in the fach and fawr,
Of course Rhonda is known for its coal the Rhonda coal went all over the world the saying is coal warm the backsides of many many countries.
Of course it wasn't only coal there were numerous factories producing so many different products population was high and then it came the 50s Rhondda declined to what it is today very little factories not a single mine, so little employment for the people of both Rhondda's it is far too easy to think of the Rhondda as one valley, both valleys are proud to be known as the Rhondda. I worry so much about the future for the people of the Rhondda the young people growing up in Rhondda today what future do they have in the Rhondda.
Of course today we are known as "Rhondda Cynon Taf" not for me though I was born Rhondda, and I will remain Rhondda, I can only wish happiness and prosperity for the people of the Rhondda

This site is not about apportioning blame or pointing the finger at them that we think could be to blame, It is about what happened to our Rhondda and the toll it has taken on our people, this dose not only apply to our Rhondda but to the whole of Wales and yes the rest of the UK.
It’s about the state of our services like the NHS, about our politicians be it in the Welsh Assembly, or indeed across the water in the UK Parliament, What role do our politicians actually take, when elected do they represent the people that elected them or do they represent the party that they belong to, do they stand up and fight for their constituents to ask the right questions or do they just sit down there and listen and perhaps forget the reasons that they were elected to do, for far too long our politicians have been so far disconnected from the people they are supposed to represent it is inconceivable to me that they get elected time and time and time again.
